It’s No Wonder…

Uprising Breads Bakery has been baking its great tasting, multigrain breads and honey-sweetened goodies for over 40 years now.

We did our growing up in the 1980s and ’90s as people were becoming more and more aware of the benefits of healthy food choices. Bread, in particular, was experiencing something of a renaissance. The demand for ‘breads of substance’ made with all natural ingredients was on the rise.

At Uprising Breads we never have, and never will, use preservatives or artificial anything in our baking. And we always have, and always will, sweeten with honey, molasses or nothing at all. We look for every opportunity to offer healthy choices without compromising those small indulgences that a terrific bakery can offer. (We have a chocolate brownie that will make your teeth rattle.)

Cracked Wheat & Sunflower

Cracked Wheat & Sunflower – sunflower seeds and kernels of cracked wheat give this bread added texture and a nice, nutty taste.

Ingredients: Whole wheat flour, sunflower seeds, cracked wheat, honey, yeast, canola oil, sea salt, blackstrap molasses.

Whole Wheat & Rye Finnish Loaf

Combines whole wheat and rye flours with cracked wheat and rye meal to make a high-fibre powerhouse.

Ingredients: Whole wheat flour, rye meal, rye flour, cracked wheat, blackstrap molasses, yeast, canola oil, honey, sea salt, wheat gluten.

Heather’s Buttermilk & Honey

Irresistible white bread.

Think French Toast. Sometimes called ‘Kid’s Bread’ … but not by us.

Ingredients: Unbleached wheat flour, honey, yeast, buttermilk powder, canola oil, sea salt.

Whole Wheat Raisin Bread

Whole Wheat Raisin Bread – with lots and lots of raisins … and a touch of cinnamon.

Ingredients: Whole wheat flour, raisins, honey, yeast, canola oil, blackstrap molasses, sea salt, cinnamon.

Sourdough Light Rye

Lowest in fat, made with absolutely no added sweeteners.

Ingredients: Unbleached wheat flour, sourdough starter (rye flour, natural bacterial culture), yeast, sea salt.

The Grainful Bread

An organic high-fibre multigrain. Our flagship bread.

Ingredients: Organic whole wheat flour, organic 7-grain cereal (organic whole wheat, barley, rye, flax, millet, oats, triticale), blackstrap molasses, yeast, canola oil, organic cornmeal, dates, honey, sea salt, wheat gluten.
